From Hosting to Winning: Nemesis 2590’s Unstoppable Run
This past weekend, Robbinsville High School was abuzz with energy, excitement, and intense competition as Nemesis 2590 proudly hosted the Robbinsville FRC District Event. As teams from across the Mid-Atlantic Region arrived, the gymnasium transformed into a battleground of innovation, teamwork, and robotics excellence. The atmosphere was electric from the moment the pits opened, with around 28 teams making final adjustments to their robots, strategizing with alliance partners, and embracing the spirit of FIRST Robotics. More than just a competition, the event celebrated STEM, collaboration, and the boundless potential of young minds.
Nemesis 2590 finished 1st in the qualification rounds, securing the position of Alliance 1 Captain, choosing Teams 1923 and 5684 to join us. The matches were thrilling, competing on our home turf, with robots showcasing impressive autonomous routines, strategic gameplay, and remarkable defensive maneuvers. The alliance fought fiercely through the playoffs, ultimately emerging as the Winning Alliance of the event and claiming 1st Place overall. Adding to the excitement, Nemesis 2590 was honored with the prestigious Engineering Inspiration Award, recognizing our commitment to advancing STEM education through the Business team’s extensive outreach efforts.
Beyond the competition, the event was a testament to the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define FIRST Robotics. Teams lent each other tools, shared advice, and cheered for one another, proving that while robotics is competitive, it is also deeply rooted in collaboration and mutual support. To all the teams who competed, to every mentor and volunteer who made this event possible, and to the supporters who cheered us on—thank you! The Robbinsville FRC District Event was a resounding success, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Nemesis 2590; we hope to host again next ye
