I’m currently studying engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, aiming to earn a BE and later a Masters in the 5 year Masters program. My intended major is in civil/environmental engineering although I might switch majors later on. SIT is one of the top engineering schools in New Jersey, and a large reason for being accepted and coming to Stevens is my FIRST Robotics experience. Not only did my involvement in FIRST provide me with an edge during the application process, it awarded me a scholarship along with the Stevens scholarship, which greatly reduced the tuition cost.
The experience I gained through FIRST and the PLTW (Project Lead the Way) classes has given me a distinct advantage in my college classes. The skills and values I learned, ranging from technical skills to working in a team are very useful in college lab classes, where working on a project with a team requires hardware knowledge and team synergy. I believe my time with Team Nemesis will prove valuable for the rest of college and later in workplace.
