“Don’t be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote often comes to mind during build season, which is riddled with obstacles and challenges. However as Emerson stated, our dream and vision of the robot is what powers all of us through.

Hi, my name is Anushka Pillay and I am a senior on the Build Team of Nemesis 2590. If there’s anything that I have learned in the past year, it is that the passion, effort, and the stakes are raised when you have a mutual goal with your team. The journey of growing together as we build a robot is the most alluring part of the experience. Robotics has helped me realize that we all have one target: to learn as much as we can and to get our team to be as successful as possible. Nemesis has helped me in more ways than I could’ve imagined. I have been able to connect theoretical school material with experiential engineering and created friendships with students from all over the country and world. I love to build things and to learn new concepts when I get the chance; the tech lab is always a welcoming environment and a place where the impossible is possible. I can spend time with great people and learn about subjects I wouldn’t normally enjoy in school. I can’t believe this new season will mark the end of a life-changing adventure, but I know that I will always have these amazing lessons and memories as I move forward.
