Hi! My name is Kavya Golamaru, and I’m a senior on the Build Team. It’s my second year on Nemesis, and I couldn’t be more excited for another great season! I always had a profound interest in technology, and robotics has helped me pursue that interest on a whole other level. During my childhood, I thought robots were fascinating and that they’d one day do my homework for me. Although I now know that defeats the purpose of homework, my love for robots did not cease. I love that robotics is not just building robots, and that we get to learn an eclectic variety of skills like improving our public speaking skills and learning to communicate effectively as a team. Being on a robotics team is extremely rewarding; I get to learn so much outside the boundary of a classroom and with so many amazing people.

At school, I am most interested in math and history related subjects. I am involved with other clubs like Red Cross and math league. I enjoy watching TV shows on the food network, especially Chopped, and trivia shows like Jeopardy (I hope I can be in an episode one day). In the future, I want to go to college and travel abroad, and later on I hope to be pursuing my dream of being a doctor. As the upcoming build season approaches, I hope to make new friends on the team and continue learning about the different parts of a robot and how to build them. I know it’s going to be a busy year on the robotics team, but I’m looking forward to it!
